Happy Birthday Grandfather.
Dear grandfather,
It had been the best part of four years since you have left us. And not one day has passed that I have not thought of you. Those last precious moments as we held hands and just silently stared out of that small window.
It has been such a long time. And yet I have not forgotten you. Your touch, your smile, your voice. If only we had more time together. If only.
This year has been such a year for me yet. I’ve met so many wonderful people in national service, made new friends, and grown so much closer to them too. We have a new president, although you may not have approved of him. Haha, grandmother even said that she voted because he made really good speeches. :)
Grandmother, father, mother and my brothers are doing fine. My father still does miss you, although he doesn’t show it. The boys are having their major exams this year, and I’m sure you will watch over them.
The sun rises and sets. The tide rises and falls, and the earth continues plodding its slow pace through the heavens. But this place will never be the same without you. I’ll see you soon.
